And yet it hasn't seemed so long
Since that day we "be wed"
Our vows to each other we solemnly said.
Where would we be in twenty years?
There would be laughter and there would be tears.
We hoped for children; a family to love.
We asked God to lead us from up above.
A household of Faith, that's what we prayed for.
God gave us a baby, and in time, seven more.
We watched them grow and watched them play
Knowing someday they would fly away.
Here we are not so young.
Some of our dreams still unsung.
But God has been faithful. He's been so good.
Even in times we haven't understood.
Twenty years and I pray for twenty more.
To have and to hold you, and your face to adore.
I am yours and you are mine.
Forever and always, to the end of time.
